1999-Jeanie wrote a grant for playground equipment and her ESL classes did surveys and statistics to find the most popular types of activities. They also measured and laid out the playground.

Jeanie also wrote a grant for an Aqua Culture Project and received a 500 gallon fish farm for the classroom.

Jeanie collaborated with Lillian Gomez, Alamosa School District Multicultural Coordinator to create a program to answer Civil Rights charges filed against the District.
