By Richard E. Hughes
As you walk
to Calvary
what burdens do you bear?
If asked to pick the cross up
could you lift your share?
So many times, so many ways,
we long for life so sweet,
yet, won't set down our burdens
there at the Master's feet.
We cry with pain and sorrow,
struggle with the load,
looking for the answers,
ignoring what He's shown.
We do not hear the Master's voice,
He speaks to me and you,
as we fall, He says, "Remember,
I fell with My Cross, too."
"But, I had someone to help me
take my Cross up the hill
and if you ask Me, 'Master,
please, lift the load.'
"I will."
As you walk to Calvary
what burdens do you bear?
